[quote:Anonymous Coward 28069791:MV8yMDYzNDM4XzM0NzE0NDkwX0YyQ0Y5RDM3] The problem is, they don't need to don jackboots and wear swastikas. Their identity as Nazis is in their policies, speeches and actions. They "walk their talk" which is why Greeks are turning to them in large numbers. These folks aren't ordinary politicians. They mean what they say and make no apologies about getting shit done. It's dangerous, but it looks like they're getting more support. On a worrying side-note, Greece actually devotes more of its GDP towards military buildup than any other nation in Europe. Mix that with the possible near-future of Golden Dawn and you have a situation very similar to that of Europe in the 1930s. Remember after Germany went bankrupt and the Nazis surged in the polls there Hitler left the "League of Nations" and other nations started to follow his example by electing Fascist governments and exercising protectionism and beginning military buildups. Of course it goes further back than this, but the election of the Nazis in Germany was the final f**k you to the European/global establishment. So yes, in that sense history is repeating itself right now. [/quote]

This is something I'm not entirely sure Brussels has prepared itself for..

The coalition of the radical left, SYRIZA, now tops the polls with ultra-nationalist party Golden Dawn polling third. The party which has garnered the highest percentage of increased support is Golden Dawn (Chrysi Avgi) which now polls 13.5 percent compared to 7 percent in June.
The ruling party has fallen sharply while Golden Dawn has surged of
6 percent in less than 5 months
. You do the math.
Greeks are pissed off with the current state of affairs, clearly.
