"When the Missionaries arrived, the Africans had the Land and the Missionaries had the Bible. They taught us how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land and we had the Bible." Whilst we're laying blame - How do we all sit with the 10 commandments?
Ready for something you weren't expecting? The 10 Commandments were given to Moses. Because of the 10 Commandments, sin exists. Sin cannot exist if there is no law, because there's no law! The Jewish people of today that are non-Messianic are currently under law. When the Holy Spirit of Israel gave his life for us as the Son of God, Yeshua, he destroyed that law and with it, paid for the sins the law held with his own blood, as the ultimate sacrifice. The first commandment is to love thy God with all thy heart, all they strength and all thy mind. The second commandment is the love thy neighbor as thyself. When you choose to walk with the Lord, you are no longer under law. You are under the Grace of God. If you attempt to put yourself under the law, you are putting yourself outside of God's Grace. HOWEVER. Because we are under no law and living under grace, that DOES NOT MEAN we are entitled to go out and sin our hearts out. Everyone reaps what they sow. Acts 2:36-39 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Yes the 10 Commandments were given to Moses, the Hebrews and God's children to separate the sheep from the goats. During the Exodus was there not a separation of the wheat from the chaff? Faith without works is dead James 2:20, 2:26, 2;18 Jesus/Yahshua our Lord and Savior did not destroy the law but fulfilled the law, for He is Righteous and Holy, Alpha and Omega, He is the Beginning and End. Jesus/Yahshua is the sacrificial lamb, the Lamb of God without blemish, by His precious blood our sins our washed away, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, repenting with all your heart, mind and soul. God Almighty's love is unconditional and just. God is love, and love conquers all things in Jesus Christ/ Yahshua, Yah is salvation! Amen and God bless!
Thank you for correcting that. I definitely should have worded it much differently. Bless you.
This is pure Bible Babble. The way some of you guys speak it sounds like the 10 commandments no longer apply to you. I think my previous post showed that as complete rubbish. What do you think "Fulfill the law means"? Jesus said Matthew 5:17–18 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. When Jesus used the word "fulfill" he was saying to honour the law, to respect the law, he was saying it was GOD's laws. He was here to make certain his followers followed it! Well he sure failed there, because they used it to steal everything from the indigenous peoples of the world, in his name! Now if you limit it to the 10 Commandments that might be fine, BUT Mosaic Law is full of atrocities & crimes against humanity. By believing they are laws "from GOD' are you insulting the very GOD you are supposed to be worshiping. Do you really believe GOD agreed with infanticide, slavery, ethnic cleansing, murder, stonings etc. If you do then I'm afraid you aren't worshiping GOD. So either Jesus didn't know that Mosaic Law contained these atrocities... OR, it means something else, because Jesus simply couldn't defend Mosaic law and be divine! You all talk this talk and yet it seems you really haven't understood anything. You use the Bible as man justifying man and in doing so make GOD sound unintelligent. You make GOD sound murderous. So the law hasn't separated the sheep from the goats... It has made most of you sheep and goats... and you defend Mosaic Law without even realising that most of Mosaic law is Sharia law. Are we going to argue Sharia law is GOD given now? Time to start thinking people - this is embarrassing
So, what exactly are you attempting to communicate? You've thrown a lot of accusations out, but I'm not quite sure where they're founded in. I'm going to pray for you, Aussie friend. You sound like someone who has never really experienced peace. I do not agree with Sharia law. I believe in making approaches in kindness, gentleness and meekness. Browbeating someone because they refuse to believe what I believe does not push the point across. I think a few posts back you mentioned something about only being able to pay attention to what Je'sus said, but paying no attention to what his disciples said later. To this effect I ask, if these disciples were good enough for Je'sus Himself, why would they not be good enough for you? Paul was a righteous man, and Peter was too (but he had one exceedingly foot-shaped mouth). Friend, if you're living under the Spirit of God, you are not living under the law.
