You obviously don't celebrate and you obviously have no use for the holiday, why must you piss on those that enjoy the day? Does it make you feel better about yourself to whine about something so trivial when there's so much other shit going on out in the world you could instead focus your anger and bitterness on?
Why the fuck are you so aggressive, bitch? Do you have the answer to my original question? :hf:
Sure, bitch. I will answer why I buy gifts, not why others do nor will I bother going into the history of the pagan celebration, none it has anything to do with why I do what I do. I buy gifts because I can. That's it. My kids need shit, I get it for them. Of course I could buy their clothes and books and what not any other day of the year and I do but I see no harm in buying stuff and wrapping it up and letting them have a bit of fun on Christmas day. Everything they get is useful and needed so I don't see it as a waste. I'm not religious. :hf:
Why on the 25th of December?
Because it's Christmas. Billions of people celebrate. Family and friends get extended vacations from work, we are all able to get together. I grew up celebrating Christmas, I like it, I will continue to do it every year. What's your issue with the 25th?? Why do you not approve of people celebrating and gifting on that particular day?
For me its the issue of wastefulness, and being forced to partake in something I don't enjoy. It's only recently people have stopped forcing gifts upon me, and inundating me with greetings cards(handing someone an Xmas card whilst saying merry Xmas in person at the same time is ludicrous). But i still have to deal with strangers trying to hug and/or kiss me, asking if I "got anything good", and being hounded into going places I don't want to go, with people I usually avoid, to have plates overfilled with food I'll never be able to manage and will end up in the bin, surrounded with drunks, and all of this on the basis of "oh come on, you have to, its Christmas!" So for someone who feels offended by the gluttony, greed, and wastefulness of the season, its UNAVOIDABLE! That's the problem. You're all ragging on OP for foisting their opinion on you, but for me the WHOLE MODERN WORLD forces this stuff on me for the entire season. My other halfs family all bought me gifts a few years ago even though I'd made it clear I wouldn't appreciate it. Told me "its all about giving" and, due to my being polite upon receiving them "see, we'll get you to like christmas!" Interesting how their giving spirit evaporated once I thanked them for their gifts and informed them I'd donated them to charity. Apparently their generosity applies only to people who's ethics they want to shit on, and not to the less-fortunate and needy. I'm aware that there are plenty of people who celebrate in an appropriate way, good for them. I'm sure those same people wouldn't force. me to take part against my will. Most people just get crazy over the top, and they need to back off.
Step back. I didn't rag on OP for foisting his opinion on me. If he doesn't want to celebrate I take no issue with it. What I do take issue with is him and people like him ragging on me because I do. It's not your business or any one elses what I do.
Bullshit.
Bullshit. Go back and read the posts. Not once did I give you hell for not participating. I did, however, get fed up with you giving me shit for doing so. It's not your business. You don't want to partake so you force your attitude & beliefs towards the holidays down every ones throat, call them names and refuse to answer simple questions. You still haven't answered why you find gift giving on the 25th so evil and horrible. You give nothing but the standard and generic answer about sheeple. You're as bad as the bible thumping Christians that preach hell fire and brimstone every single day on GLP.
LOL. You are full of shit, bro
I'm a sister, not a bro. You are the one full of shit. You tend to think only your opinion counts. You listen to no one else. No matter what anyone has said you've come back with the same tired old lines. Anyway..I have to go wrap presents and make an obscenely disgusting light display outside of my home. God bless!
