Oh yes.
I'm living in NZ because two sisters, 15 and 17, arrived here speaking only Gaelic after six months at sea.
What happened to their family back in Ireland?
Who knows.
But my culture and ancestry are in my bones, and while I'd love to go back and live in Ireland (always loved emerald green) that's problematic for all sorts of reasons.
Weirdly I get on really well with Maori-not so much the English descent locals-big fat fucking surprise as a lot of them are still nostalgic for God, Queen and Empire.
And murder and theft.
The local Maori are fine with me and others like me being here.
Rewi, one of my closest friends here is really pleased that I'm fine with my Celtic background because I'm not a 'wannabe' Maori or Indian-he's married to a Canadian Indian.
They find it irritating that whites come looking to be a part of their culture.
They understand the vicissitudes of (mis)fortune and history which is why I'm here and not in SW Ireland.
The conclusion I've come to after long talks and a lot of thought is that Shit Happened in the past and continues to happen.
Which I'll help redress-and I do, being involved in local politics.
The lesson I've learnt from reading all sides of the history is-it could have been done so much better.

White invasions has done so much damage, that a lot of people either ignore or weirdly cannot see.

Natives could happily survive without most shit we now have to have to survive today, since white culturalization. We need shit like plastic to carry water, food, etc. Natives used wood for such things.

If whites want to have that sort of lifestyle and are too stupid and money hungry to use non-enviromentaly damaging tools like the natives did, then THEY GO BACK TO THEIR OWN COUNTRY AND DO IT.

Why should other more evolved cultures have to push themselves down, to suit the lifestyle of the seemingly less evolved white culture, ON THEIR OWN LAND??

All cultures have their own land. It's just disgusting that there are groups with power that can and do come and unjustifyingly overrule them.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, doesn't mean it's morally right.
