Original Message Our 19 year old son just got a letter in the mail from the US Government "Selective Service System". He has to register with them online via www(dot)sss(dot)gov or by phone within 10 days. CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE

IS THIS LETTER LIGIT OR A SCAM? IS THIS A STANDARD LETTER TEEN BOYS GET WHEN THEY GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL AND ARE NOT IN COLLEGE?

The letter states "Failure to do so is a Federal crime punishable by a fine and imprisonment"...signed by Lawrence G. Romo - director. The return address is PO Box in Palatine IL 60094-4733.

What the heck? Is the US Gov preparing our youth for an upcoming DRAFT??

Maybe we'll start looking for property in Canada.....
