[quote:Anonymous Coward 15215384:MV8yMDcxNTU5XzM0OTAyMTk0X0IwRTkzNUY2] Little Demi? Antichrist? erm.......NO. She is just a baby! Most of the time she doesnt even know where she is! It's not in her personality to be involved with projects that harm others. There is a good soul in that body. Unfortunately, the business that she is in, is in the belly of the Beast.
Similarities between Demi Lovato and Christ:
1. Demi Lovato's wrists are scarred (because she used to cut herself).
2. Demi Lovato was crucified and died (when she punched one of her friends in the face and subsequently went to rehab to deal with some of her issues).
3. Demi Lovato was resurrected (when she left rehab, released her third album "Unbroken", and went on to publicly tell her story of downfall and redemption in many different interviews).
I don't fault her for any of this. I feel for her. She's had some emotionally tough times.
But here's the problem:
4. Demi Lovato has a loyal following of millions of fans (who call themselves "Lovatics") who idolize her as a "role model" and an "inspiration" and seem to think she can do no wrong even when she:
- acts a little slutty (see the "Who's That Boy" performance below)
- mars her body with numerous tattoos
- drastically changes her hair and makeup with every public appearance
- becomes part of a mean-spirited reality-TV singing competition like "X Factor"
She does seem like a nice enough person, like someone who would make a good friend in real life, and I like the female body size she's promoting that discourages girls from being self-conscious and starving themselves (which unfortunately seems to be common these days). It just concerns me when a person is worshiped like some sort of false god.
Here's "Who's That Boy". Pay particular attention to the butt slap pantomime at 0:51. That was on "Good Morning America", a mainstream American TV show. It's not the type of behavior I would want any daughter (or wife) of mine to imitate.
"I could see us making waves, from the back of the club to a bed in the shade."
