Original Message The first improvement is speed but the metro apps panel is ok for a touch screen but if you want to use win8 as a desktop you need to download classic shell.

Boot time is a heck of lot faster on win 8 it takes about 15 seconds on win 8, it takes about 30 seconds on win 7 also less memory usage on 8.

I said I hated it but after trying it my opinion has changed.
