Yes, state-sponsored education has brainwashed the masses into accepting Marxism, but there is a remnant that refuses to accept such tyranny.
It has always been corrupt and based upon tyranny. When was it neither corrupt nor based upon tyranny?
I didn't say it was never corrupt, I said it was not always Socialist/Marxist.
Well, whether you call it socialist, marxist, or something else, it was based upon the forced redistribution of wealth. [quote:UnmannedAerialPilot:MV8yMDczNjk5XzM0OTIyNjU1XzkwQ0ZBRjU=] All governments are ran by men, and men are inherently evil. Corruption is inevitable, therefore the Constitution was written to limit the size/scope of the government, so that when it went corrupt (which the founders knew it would), the people had the power to rebel, secede, overthrow the tyranny and restore liberty. That was the purpose of the Second Amendment.
It looks like their plans were seriously flawed. Instead of the smallest and weakest government that ever existed, their plan helped to create one of (if not) the largest empire(s) in history. Their plan against corruption was a piece of paper which simultaneously granted massive amounts of power to people while telling said people not to abuse it. :chuckle: Would you trust handing all of the power of your finances over to your neighbor with a piece of paper telling him he better not abuse the power you've just given him? No? Yeah, it's not somehow a good idea for governments either. It was a ridiculous concept and it ended up just how one should have expected.
Yes it didn't work because the people became complacent, but it was a darn good shot at it , much better than all the other stuff. :tytler:
And we are now in the dependence stage...
