Which berries to pick, which mushrooms, how to catch trout, where there's good hiding places and fresh water. I would be willing to guess that everyone knows their own state the best, so it may be the safest place to be.
Reading this makes me homesick.
One of the strongest earthquakes I have ever felt was in Washington on may 18th, 1980. And SHE has a violent and erratic temper.
Well, it would seem that you survived to tell about it. And 32 years ago? Still worried, are you?
No but I find it strange when people fear earthquakes because you're right I did survive, and a 7.3 in cali, and a tornado in tx, and blizzards and ice in the midwest, floods, hurricanes, I've never seen a tsunami, but neither have millions of coastal dwellers. Washington is great, so is az, mn, ny,fl,ha,wy,........ The worst place to be for tshtf is earth. Nobody cares on uranus.
But common sense dictates that some places are far better than others. Since I am not on Uranus, I DO care which areas are safer than others. And this whole Tsunami paranoia has gotten ridiculous. You don't have to live far away from the coast, to be safe from Tsunamis. I live 10 minutes from the Pacific, and I am out of the Tsunami zone. That is, unless an large asteroid or meteor hits the Pacific. And if THAT happens, I'd actually rather be right on the beach.
I'm in Texas right now (not where I wanted to be at this particular moment in history) -fortunately far enough outside a major metro area where I would be relatively safe for a little while anyway. I think Texas is probably one of the worst places to be when the dollar collapse happens. I'm hoping it holds off until I can get back to my home state of Washington in the spring.
What state or states do folks deem the worst to be in and why...?
