He is not an intellectual concept. He is not a philosophy. He is not a whimsical pondering on the greater meaning of existance. He is not an arbitrary choice that you subscribe to like a politcal leaning.
God is a real being. A supernatural being. With total and absolute authority and authorship over this world and all his creation.
God sent his son Jesus to save the world. For 2000 years, this good news has been preached. When the truth comes to you, it is grace...an opportunity to accept what he says, to subject yourself to the lordship of christ and receive salvation from your sins.
You can't simply think yourself into salvation...you are not the author of it! You are the responder! When the truth is presented to you, you are forced into the emotional valley of decision where you must accept or reject it...and you'll know when it's God because you'll be forced to make this decison...you'll feel the conviction of the truth in your being with fear and tembling, and realize you need the savior...or you'll have the opposite response...you'll become angry, hard hearted and beligerant in your rejection...such is the word of God when you come into it's presence. Most of you will run from it so you won't have to make that decision. You'll hide behind the false belief that merely agreeing to the idea of God is the same as knowing, and accepting him as your lord and savior.
God is real...next time he knocks on your heart, let him in, and if you do, be thankful that you responded while he was still knocking, because he won't knock forever....
Today is the day of salvation.
