Original Message Just showing how you can very easily start a fire with cotton balls.



If you pre-prepare one with petroleum jelly flint and (magnesium) striker ignition is childsplay.
Trying to do this without petroleum jelly means it's more difficult to raise the flashpoint of the cotton wool ball.

Carrying a bag of these prepped cotton wool balls means you'll not have a nightmare of trying to start a fire with wet tinder, bark etc.

I cannot tell you how handy this is if there is rainfall, wet conditions etc.
I have bags of these all over my Catche's etc.
