You have a tv.

You have a remote.

They are made to work together.

Evertime you change the channel using the remote, it changes the channel on the tv.

The remote sends information to the tv. The tv interprets the information and responds to the command.

As long as the hardware holds up, you can send as much information to the tv as the hardware will allow for as long as the hardware will allow.

Technological advances have been made so that more information can be sent and interpreted faster.

Capping data plans is like a tv manufacturer saying you can only change the channel on your tv via the remote so many times per month. ( heck, changing the channel period, as that requires an exchange of information ).

You are being capped by the amount of information you can exchange monthly over the internet. In which the internet is designed to do.

It's like paying for tv sevice and saying you can only watch it for so many hours a month.

Or paying for local landline telephone service and only being able to make so many local calls a month.

I can understand charging for internet acces and faster speeds.

But charging for usage is ludicrous.

It is nothing short of greed.
