Original Message I am sure most of you have been as disgusted as I with how the MSM has handled this tragedy. Everything from the number of shooters, names, ages, who works where has been botched. These are basic facts that anyone who studied journalism would tell you are day 1 stuff every journalist should know not to screw up. There is just one problem...

The media hasn't done real investigative journalism in so long that they don't know how! Or at the very least they are piss poor at it. Let's face it, there is no real independent media on TV or radio. Any time anyone tries to actually investigate something, they get blocked by politics. Who sponsors who, what backroom deals exist etc. This has been going on for a long time. This is the media that the public has told them it wanted. Through ratings and lowest common denominator reporting styles. This is the result.

When it comes time to actually piece a story together in real time.. THEY CAN'T DO IT. Did anyone else notice they all just quote each other? "ABC is reporting that..." "We are being told that NY Post said that an info graphic on Facebook said..."

We need to stop feeding the machine, turn off the TV, go outside, read a book. If we stop watching the muckrakers they will be out of a job. As for actual news.. We need good independent journalists that we can rely on who don't report to one of the big 6 companies. What is wrong with everyone?
