Original Message Notes to review:

1. Is there a record of the purported lone gunman practicing shooting? Local gun range, just off in the woods, what?
"Chillingly accurate" [link to www.ndtv.com]
all dead, none wounded?
Why did they leave the bodies in the school until nightfall to remove them -- for over 12 hours? Is that normal practice?

2. How many guns were there? Why did the substitute mom have 5 registered guns including tactical weapons? If it was just the two pistols he had with him, how could he get off 'hundreds of shots' within a few minutes.

"Authorities say Adam Lanza shot his mother at their home, then drove her car to Sandy Hook Elementary School and — armed with at least two handguns — carried out the massacre.
A third weapon, a .223-caliber rifle, was found in the car, and more guns were recovered during the investigation."

conflicting with: [link to news.msn.com]
"The official said that a gun used in the attacks is a .223-caliber rifle."

Seems State Media MSN rapidly and consistently contradicts itself throughout.
The rifle was found in the car, but it was used in the attacks. Which is it?

Why does mom have "Lanza's rifle was similar to a weapon widely used by troops in Afghanistan and Iraq." ?

3. Head's up for pre-crime gadget implementation:

"Security experts say prior knowledge is one of the only ways to prevent school shootings.

U.S. school districts have spent millions of dollars on metal detectors, security cameras and elaborate emergency-response plans since the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School, but almost nothing could have prevented Friday's massacre at a Connecticut elementary school, security experts say. ...
"The school could not have stopped it without prior knowledge that he was coming," said Bill Bond, a school safety specialist and former high school principal who had a deadly student shooting on his watch."
IF it couldn't have been prevented, why this?
"Still, Bond said, there is no way for students and teachers to protect themselves when someone begins shooting with a weapon. He said even a security guard and locked doors could not have stopped the killer.

Without knowing the school's security system, Kenneth Trump, president of consulting firm National School Safety and Security Services, stresses that schools need to be "looking for these lone wolf actors."
...
But he has seen the danger drop at schools in the wake of Columbine. Dozens of shootings have been thwarted by students, teachers and principals sharing information and warning about students with weapons or plans to kill.

"There was a substantial amount of progress in the months and years after Columbine in prevention, security and emergency preparedness in our schools," said Trump. "A lot of those measures have become part of the school culture." But he worries about maintaining that culture in the future because of budget constraints. As the risk of violence has increased because of the stress inflicted by the struggling economy, the time and funding allocated to these prevention and safety programs have declined."

4. (from same link above), I also believe it may well be 'the same as what happened in Aurora':
"This is going to go down as a school shooting, but it's exactly what happened in Aurora," said Bond, referring to the mass shooting by a lone gunman at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo., in July that left 12 dead and 58 wounded. "That was a movie theater, this was a school," he added.

6. What's up with the second gunman? Error?:

7. May be off topic, but are there really still 'pocket protectors'? --
Other than that, the genius thing, another similarity to Aurora/Holmes:
[link to news.msn.com]

"Adam Lanza attended Newtown High School, and news clippings from recent years show him on the honor roll. Joshua Milas, a classmate who was in the technology club with Lanza, said that he was generally a happy person but that he hadn't seen him in a few years.

"We would hang out, and he was a good kid. He was smart," said Milas, who graduated in 2009. "He was probably one of the smartest kids I know. He was probably a genius."

The tech club held "LAN parties" — short for local area network — in which students would gather at a member's home, hook up their computers into a small network and play games. Gloria Milas, Joshua's mother, said Adam Lanza's mother hosted one of the parties.

She recalled a school meeting in 2008 organized by the gunman's mother to try to save the job of the club's adviser. At the meeting, Milas said, Adam Lanza's brother Ryan said a few words in support of the adviser, who he said had taken his brother under his wing.
"My brother has always been a nerd," Ryan Lanza said then, according to Milas. "He still wears a pocket protector."

8. Parents -- dad is tax director for G.E.; saw nothing out of the ordinary. Opinion conflicts with suggestion of 'possible mental disorder' ...? which the other son mentioned.
msn ... hmm
[link to news.msn.com]
"Lanza's parents filed for divorce in 2008, according to court records. His father, Peter Lanza, lives in Stamford, Conn., according to public records, and he reportedly works as a tax director for General Electric.

Lanza's aunt Marsha Lanza, of Crystal Lake, Ill., said her nephew was raised by kind, nurturing parents who would not have hesitated to seek mental help for him if he needed it.

If her son had needed counseling, "Nancy wasn't one to deny reality," she said Friday. Marsha Lanza said her husband had seen Adam as recently as June and recalled nothing out of the ordinary."

9. ? the lone gunman either had several connections to the school, or nothing recent, or several. The mom was a substitute teacher, but is not on any staff list or any connection found.
[link to news.msn.com]

vs
[link to news.msn.com]

"A law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity said investigators believe Adam Lanza attended Sandy Hook school several years ago but appeared to have no recent connection to the place.

At least one parent said Adam Lanza's mother was a substitute teacher there. But her name did not appear on a staff list. And the law enforcement official said investigators were unable to establish any connection so far between her and the school.

An official who spoke on condition of anonymity said it was not clear that Adam Lanza had a job, and there was no indication of law enforcement interviews or search warrants at a place of business.

10. Why did lone gunman have Ryan's, his brother's, ID? Why did Ryan know or suggest this, if he hadn't seen him in a couple of years?

11. Who admitted the lone gunman?
[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]
"According to a letter sent to parents at the beginning of the year, the school had recently upgraded its security protocol, requiring visitors to be individually admitted after visual and identification review over a video monitor;"

"Adam Lanza may have been admitted to the school by the principal because he was recognized as the son of a colleague.[15] He was described as wearing black military-style gear, including a bullet-proof vest[16][17] and a mask during the shootings."

So ... the principal admitted a guy wearing black military-style gear and -- or at least carrying something bulk enough to be 'military style gear, bullet proof vest, mask, and at least two handguns or a rifle?
Am I getting this right?

12. note: it took SIX MINUTES? before anyone called 911?
[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]
ie, shooting started at 9:35, 911 call was at 9:41.

13. Did Adam have autism or aspergers, or what? Did he have friends, or not? Friends are quoted as saying he was generally happy and probably 'a genius'. HE had parties; LAN parties -- his mom hosted one.

14. Were any teachers or students or other staff, who normally would be present that day, not there -- due to interesting circumstances? What are their other connections?
