I dunno - but does not the coroner's office require that somebody had to ID the body IN PERSON?
We (sadly)have had to deal with several deaths of family members in the last years - coroner could care a less about our family's circumstances (ie - had to fly in on one occasion) SOMEBODY had to ID the body in person for the certificate.
