Original Message We all adjust to our surroundings. Humans are adaptable. But what are we adjusting to?

When I lived in one country I had to switch my mobile phone carrier to the one the police used so that it wouldn't get shut off constantly when they turned off area communication during their constant raids.

It was just a mobile carrier. All I was was a t-mobile (or whatever) customer. And yet what it meant was I had adapted to a police state.

When I shop I try to stick to farmer's markets and organic.

That just makes me a farmer's market and health conscious consumer, but what am I adjusting to? I'm adjusting to poisoned foods: irradiated fruits and chemical filled meals.

To the world I'm just a t-mobile customer that likes local foods. But the fact is I am those things because I have attempted to work around an aggressively toxic and dangerous environment.

How many things have we normalized by adjusting to them?
