BTW: we live in a gated community. The SOB hopped one of the back fences and walked up to the back door of our house (cutting thru our fence) with the guards not even knowing he was in the area.  So much for $1900/year for "security services and HOA Dues!"  The following year I threatened to sue the HOA if they didn't reduce all our annual fees for "security" and they did - by about 50% for five years in exchange for a release. Since my incident the new HOA management company now hires off duty cops and HP officers. And they're all armed. Back then they had some old retired guys who would happily work for $12 to $15/hr plus their uniforms. They might have had mace and I'm not even sure about that! Funny the things that changed when I screamed "negligence" regarding the "security" provided by the HOA that we all pay for.

Anyway since having first hand experience I agree. I think we should mandate that every citizen over 21 own and carry a fire arm and know how to use it! How many of those little kids would be alive today if two or three teachers were certified and trained in armed self-defense methods and licensed to carry and did have a gun locked up in their classroom or a locker somewhere on the premises?

I still don't like guns and I don't like using them. But you can bet your ass I'll own one until they take it out of my cold dead grasp and I'll keep on learning and retraining as need be to make sure I'm competent and able to use one effectively if I absolutely must.
