All Amerikkkans do is find cop outs and pseudo 'solutions'. Is everybody just gonna fold over and take it in the ass now just not to offend anybody? I find it EXTREMELY offensive that after a shooting took place that now they want to make it harder to us citizens to defend ourselves by removing guns from stores.
Well, at the moment, it wasn't the government forcing Dick's but the chain doing it voluntarily. However, I don't know why, since it's not like they did anything wrong?? The Daily Mail article I referenced above even stated that Adam Lanza did not purchase a gun from them. Between this and the NRA cowering in fear, this is just going to make those calling for extreme measures all the bolder.
Exactly. When we remain silent as gun owners on this subject then we imply our 'guilt'.
CNN) -- Dick's Sporting Goods, one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the world, says it has
removed all guns from its store nearest to Newtown, Connecticut, and is suspending the sale of certain kinds of semi-automatic rifles from its chains nationwide
.
The move was made out of respect for the victims and families of last week's Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting "during this time of national mourning," the store said in a statement Tuesday morning.
"We continue to extend our deepest sympathies to those affected by this terrible tragedy," the statement said.
It was unclear how long the store will keep the suspension in place for the guns, known as 'modern sporting rifles.'

UPDATE as Walmart is doing this for its web store (dunno if their regular stores are far behind?) -
Walmart announced Monday that the chain is pulling the Bushmaster Rifle from its web store, a military-style weapon similar to that used by 20-year-old Adam Lanza in the mass shooting that killed 20 children and six staff members Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
