the conjunction of planets on December 21, 2012. This conjunction special? Not really. The only thing special about this mode is that the earth 'only' between Jupiter and the sun. What is special? The earth is slightly attracted by Jupiter. This attraction causes the elliptical orbit of the earth around the sun. This deviation is approximately 850,000 km. Now that means that at a distance of 150 million kilometers not much.
