Since I was seven I have had a connection to the Maya.

Opened up a World Book Encyclopedia Year Book and at the center was a three page transparency of the three incarnations (pre, classic and post classic) of the great Mayan city of Tikal.
Well I had never seen transparencies before and just thought they were cool.
When I was older I started to read about Tikal and how the Maya had built on the remains of the earlier incarnations of the great city.
Pyramids built on top of pyramids. Three different layers of Mayan history preserved.
I knew there was something really special about the Maya.

Later on in my life I visited Tikal and a number of other sites in Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. I felt a definite connection in those sacred places.

I do not believe the world will have a Hollywood ending on December 21st,2012.

However that's not to say that it will not be a profound moment.

When the generations that grew up in the shadow of this auspicious date pass through this time we shall all be transformed in the knowing of our selves.
