I live on the east side, not in St. Louis, so if anyone is over there and can see these things, let me know.
We had storms roll through earlier, but they have now passed, and every few minutes there is a flash in the sky to the west(would be over the St. Louis area). The winds are still high, so maybe it's blowing out transformers?
I've seen the flashes 5-6 times in the last 20 minutes, but the clouds are breaking up/gone. They are green looking too, not white like you'd normally see in lightning.
Can anyone else verify this? If it's not lightning, is anyone in St. Louis losing their power?
I will step out and try to catch it on video, but it's friggin freezing outside and I already fell on ice once today(not a good thing with a broken pelvis!ouch!!).
When I saw it, I immediately thought of the transformers blowing in TX, and didn't know if the high winds are causing this. Husband said maybe static in the broken up clouds, but I think that only happens with heat lightning, and it's a different color than that.
So can anyone on the other side of the river or in this area confirm? Thanks!
