It would be wise to test for XYY families and definitely restrict their guns. We used to recommend a definite abort if you did amniocentesis and found this, Down's or other msjor birth genetic defects. This is the worst one and fills the prisons.If you have an XYY kid then guns need to definitely be banned from this family just as if you are seeing a psychiatrist or a family member is you are NOT supposed to be hauling guns around them.Of course, now we call XYY, the super soldier syndrome, and they have changed to laud this defect as it was considered until around 1990.

It's a genetic issue from breeding with a small group with the issue for a long time. 2D6 and 3A are the culprit pathways missing. It is to be noted that cannabis itself knocks out these cytochrome P450 pathways so smoking pot AND taking psychotropics AND alcohol can truly send you over the edge and you can commit heinous crimes you don't even remember doing.

It is possible the blood level of psychiatric medicine was SO high the medical examiner wants to check to see if he was missing proper liver metabolic oathways which can easily be tested for and ARE SUPPOSED to be checked by competent psychiatrists all the time. Of course, he could have just been suicidal and taken a purposeful over dose ahead of the tragedy.

This is standard genetic testing nowadays by doctors who keep up with medicine any way.

Carver hasn't said precisely what he may want geneticists to look for, but scientists who study the links between genes and violence say those tests won't reveal much about why Lanza did what he did.

Ellen Wright Clayton, a specialist in law and genetics at Vanderbilt University, says there aren't many possibilities. "The only thing they can be looking for here is to see whether the killer had certain genetic variants that may predispose to mental illness or to violence," she says.
