Had you existed during those times it would not have been perceived as 'adverse circumstances/conditions', it simply would have felt natural and like 'living life'. It's like you thinking about not having access to air conditioning. Did anyone two centuries ago think about how awful it was not to have air conditioning? They didn't know it even existed - so to not have the convenience of air conditioning wasn't even a viable thought. [/quote]

I seriously don't understand this trapped mentality of working as a wage slave 40-50 years all your life building some 401k package and then retire when you are too old and grey to do anything - and also knowing you may have a couple of years left to live.
