Original Message Because this simple truth scares many weak minded people that's why the fairy tale of an afterlife and reincarnation was conjured up - and that's totally understandable. If a loved one dies, you would naturally state that the person has gone to a "better place" simply out of respect and not looking like a jerk for saying otherwise.
