I hope it's a reflection of all of you hanging your heads in shame for being so materialistic and passing that on to your offspring. YOU are the problem and only YOU can fix it.
Here's a response. Kids are kids only once....and they only believe in Santa for a short time. Let them enjoy being kids for a while...and that includes getting toys and being able to play / learn from them. There is plenty of time later on to buy them clothes. You are mentally damaging those kids. You are the opposite extreme of those who spoil them with commercialism. Neither extreme is good. Wise up....you are doing them no favors. :spock:
Says the rich parent who I used to beat up as a kid. YOU are doing your own offsping the wrongdoing. Teach them to use what they have rather than pray to a fat bastard for crap they don't need. Buy your kids ipods and iphones and watch them wait tables and flip burgers while mine go to ivy league schools on scholarships
Holy mother of all wrong assuming Batman. Care to try again? :popcorn smiley:
Screw that! Our tree was BARE! I mean, my kids got socks underwear and clothes. No toys, no trinkets. Did they care? NOPE! We're teaching our children to materialistic little bastards!
Stop bitching and complaining about how little your kids got for Christmas and teach them to appreciate not only the reason for the season, but teach them to appreciate what they have and to see how fortunate they are for what they do have and what they get.
My middle child opened a gift of underwear, and his big brother said "did I get underwear to??" I am so proud of my kids for not really giving a crap about the gifts, but they cared about the meaning of the holiday and they appreciate what they have.
