No more Russian adoptions by Americans because of the The Magnitsky bill?
The bill was signed into law by President Barack Obama on December 14, 2012.
In 2009, lawyer and auditor Sergei Magnitsky died in a Moscow prison after exposing massive fraud involving Russian tax officials.
Vladmir Putin said, "This is very bad. This, of course, poisons our relationship" with the United States.
The ban of US beef by Russia has also been blamed as retaliation because of this bill.
Ractopamine -used as a feed additive to promote leanness in animals raised for their meat.
80 countries, including the European Union, Taiwan, mainland China and Russia have banned ractopamine.
27 countries, including Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Canada, the United States have determined that it is safe for human consumption.
The maximum residues limit of ractopamine is 50 ppb in US, 10 ppb in Japan. In Taiwan, some shipments of beef from the United States have been rejected by the health authority due to the presence of residual ractopamine.
Behavioral changes in humans may include: Feelings of restlessness, apprehension, and anxiety, in addition to changes of heart rate and cardiac output, skeletal muscle tremor.
