In pain you will eat its produce all the days of your life. 18 And thorns and thistles it will grow for you, and you must eat the vegetation of the field. 19 In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.” Ge3:13
Satan was actually correct. It was God who was telling the lies. Satan said you will not die and, according to the Christian, no one ever really dies. When you die in this world, you go to another world immediately, so death has no meaning. Christians think people go to hell or heaven so there is no death. Think about it. You don't actually think you will die. You will just be transferred to another reality. Atheists believe that people die and turn to dust. God said (in the quote above) that people whill return to the ground and return to dust. So is God telling a lie? Why didn't he mention that people would go directly to hell?
Because hell is a non scriptural Satanic blasphemy invented by religious capitalists to frighten suckers into church where they bribe their way around judgment by passing the plate ching chingThis is what Christians actually believe; " I, even I, have said in my heart with regard to the sons of mankind that the [true] God is going to select them, that they may see that they themselves are beasts. 19 For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust. 21 Who is there knowing the spirit of the sons of mankind, whether it is ascending upward; and the spirit of the beast, whether it is descending downward to the earth? 22 And I have seen that there is nothing better than that the man should rejoice in his works, for that is his portion; because who will bring him in to look on what is going to be after him?" Ecc3:18
So you actually believe that death means death, that there is no hell or eternal punishment, etc. That is exactly what I believe as well, but I am an atheist.
" For the living are conscience that they will die, but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten"..-Ecclesiastes 9:5
Yes, I am an atheist and believe the same thing. But I think it applies to everyone, not just to non-Christians and people who have other beliefs. I think it applies to us all. And I don't particularly care because I think the idea of eternal life sounds frightening, even if you think it will be paradise and all that. What does one do for forever? Ever think about it. Think if you had to live on earth forever. I am bored living here and I can't even imagine having to live here forever. And even if heaven was wonderful and I was happy all the time, time would still pass as time. After billions upon billions of years, you would have seen everything, done everything, etc. So eternity would not even have begun. If this sounds like a pleasing idea, I sure wish I knew why?
you are correct, it does apply to everyone:-" Look! ALL the souls-to me they belong. As the soul of the father, so likewise the soul of the son-to me they belong. The soul that is sinning-it itself will die"- Ezekiel 18:4 And as for living forever, really, we were designed to live forever. The Bible says God has put eternity in our hearts....I mean, what are things that you like to do that you could perfect with time? music? art? exploring endless animal life? etc., etc...I don't know what your likes are but imagine endless creativity...and maybe boredom is the result of so many limitations we have right now. and as for being happy, isn't that simple state of mind what people REALLY desire? yet so few attain it. being happy in itself would make living forever a joy?
I think that you are misinterpreting the phrase "forever" or "eternity." Imagine that I loved a certain musical artist and I got to take lessons from that artist. Imagine I learned to play the piano like a professional. Imagine that it took me 500,000 years to reach that point. Then imagine I learned to paint from Picasso himself. Imagine that took another 500,000 years. Then imagine I had a horse and a couple of dogs. I do love animals. But imagine having to feed and take care of them for 500,000 years. Now...imagine forever. Would you not get bored with the music after a certain amount of time? I know I get bored of certain songs after I listen to them a few hundred times. Forever is FOREVER....billions upon billions and gazillions of years. Imagine a butterfly that continuously flew around the world. Imagine that at only one point, its wings touched the ground and made a small indent in the dirt. Well, imagine that butterfly continuing to fly around the earth and each time its wings passed that point a little more ground was taken away, but just a teeny tiny bit. Now imagine that the butterfly flew around earth so many times that its wings made a hole the size of the Grand Canyon. Now, thinking of eternity, it has not even yet begun. YOU would get bored. You know you would. You would want to rest. You would beg God to rest. But this is forever and ever. You can't escape. Think about it clearly. Do you really want to live forever or is this just something your church tells you that you should want?
Then the only way one may live forever without boredom, is to forget.
Then perhaps reincarnation? You go to one place, you experience everything, they delete your memories, they send you somewhere else??? Maybe, who knows. I sort of doubt it though.
"They"? It's more likely "you" partition "yourself" off forgetting what you are. Like multiple folders within another folder.
I don't quite understand. Are you saying that you are now creating your own existence? Are you thinking that this is all part of your imagination? Or do you think that after you die you will then be able to will yourself to forget what you have experienced? I said "they" because there seems to be some consensus that God and angels and the like exist. So "they" would be able to send you to different points of origin after you die, and after they delete your memories of the past places, like reincarnation.
No one "knows". This "consensus" is just information provided second hand by "others". It doesn't mean it's true. Your personal experience is all you can truly claim you "know", everything else is second hand. We can speculate on stuff beyond our perception, but since it is outside our scope of experience, we can't know.
Yes, I KNOW this...this I actually know. LOL
