[quote:Don'tBeAfraid:MV8yMTAxNDEzXzM1NDkyMzQ3XzY4NUI2QTc4] [quote:Anonymous Coward 22863446:MV8yMTAxNDEzXzM1NDkxOTg0XzQyQzU1RUY2] Pneumonia had no clue went for upper stomach pain in the left area never in my life have I had pneumonia this is for sure a first. Feel very run down and out of breath hope the antibiotics and steroids kick in soon....
At the base of the lungs is tough flap of muscle called the diaphram. It contains the phrenic nerve. If stimulated by infection, you could have "referred pain" which might show up as stomach pain. The stomach is right below the diaphram. It also could feel like pain in your liver too. http://medicalimages.allrefer.com/large/hiatal-hernia-repair-series.jpg This is why it's confusing when sick, because visceral (the area of organs inside) nerves refer dull pain all the time. It might show up as shoulder pain. How weird is that?
