Oil companies will decide for this too though, less earnings for them if 2 countries have to share.
There are rumors, conspiracy theories we've been hearing for 20-30 years that there's lots of oil in the south east region of Turkey. Well there are already some oil wells and a little oil production there but i mean much much more than that. Which makes sense considering Iraq in the south, Iran in the south east, and abruptly on this side of the border oil disappears, really ? I don't buy it. It's said that whenever those companies find a productive oil field, they mark it 'unproductive' and close the well. I don't know if this is certainly true but it makes sense to me. There were also some witnesses (some petroleum engineers etc. worked in that area) claiming the same, but as usual they were discredited as conspiracy whackos. My point is they will never allow you or me to get that oil entirely, until this status quo changes. I also believe that Black Sea is very rich in oil, but the same story apply there too.
The oil companies have their own agenda when to take advantange of the oil fields. They know exactly every resource in the planet.Satelites give the intelligence needed. They have a policy...first we take oil from the middle east, then from meditteranenan, then from the poles, then from everywhere possible...and when oil finishes we will switch to hydrogen. The same companies that trade oil will produce and trade hydrogen in 30 years.Hydrogen will be even more expensive. They go first for the easier to get resources.Middle east or texas was easy.Oil,natgas and other resources in the aegean are deep.In the poles they are even deeper.Nazis had maps with the aegean and meditteranenan resources. The greek military regime had maps. They are the same fields that are explored nowdays. But at that time the technology was not so advanced and it was hard to get.
