You make it sound like the New Madrid could not be the cause of this.  However, the New Madrid had a series of major quakes 200 years ago, easy to look up, it happened, if it happened before it can happen again.

Fracking only occurs in a few regions in the US, whereas these booms are happening in many areas, often areas many hundreds of miles from any fracking operations.

Tunneling?  Well I used to think that was possible, but when put forward by people like yourself, who are one of two things, either a) ignorant, or b) disinformation agents, leads me to believe the "tunneling" theory is just more disinformation and a distraction from the real cause.

This is rift faulting people.  Though we shouldn't worry too much, the other sign of major rifting is a large increase in sinkholes, and we haven't seen that (sarcasm).

Get away from the New Madrid NOW!!!!!
