Original Message I was just reading up on this flu outbreak. It seems that in the majority of articles they implicate H3N2 as the culprit. Apparently this strain is covered in the current vaccine. What doesn't make sense is that so many folks who have been vaccinated are still getting ill.

I found the below while doing a bit of reading up. Apparently back in the Summer a variant of H3N2 called H3N2v was discovered. There was an outbreak among humans and pigs at a county fair. This variant is not covered in the current vaccine. I wonder if this is what is causing such a nasty outbreak?

The info below mentions that kids 10 and under have no immunity.
