And there's nothing they can do about it.
Tennessee is very gun friendly, but we are not a constitution carry state. That's why our permit is called a carry permit and not a concealed carry permit. That guy really f'ed up broadcasting an open threat like that. Word to the wise folks. If you are that pissed, take a deep breath before you put your words on the internet for the whole world to hear.
THANK YOU this pisses me off so much as a Tennessean it makes us look bad. Guy let his emotions get the best of him, and that is a #1 DON'T.
I really dislike having to have a permit for something I have a right to keep and bare. I shouldn't have to have permission from the state to do what I have a right to do, but it is not hard or expensive to comply with TN's very pro-gun laws just to have a card that tells a cop I'm one of the good guys. TN carry permit holders are statistically safer than the police and they know it. When I see another permit holder open carry, I know that I am around someone else like myself who knows the law and is prepared to defend himself and others. What that guy did was not a simple demonstration of freedom of speech. That was a credible threat of homocide. That asshat that posted his little rant is certainly entitled to his freedom of speech, but he is not free from the consequences of threatening to kill people. That is not what TN's carry permit holders do.
NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has suspended the handgun carry permit of a local man who threatened to "start killing people" to protect his Second Amendment right.
In a statement released Friday officials said they had suspended the handgun carry permit of James Yeager, CEO of Tactical Response based on "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public".
