Instead, use the power of your State to obstruct and oppose Obama's agenda, legally. I wrote this letter to my State House ... Dear State Senator XXXX & State Representative YYYY; I am a resident of your district(s), and I am concerned about the expected federal intrusion on the gun rights of myself and my fellow citizens. Rational analysis of crime statistics makes it clear that communities with armed citizens are far more safe than communities that have been disarmed. Indeed, it is documented that crime rates actually went up in Australia after a gun ban. Furthermore, the Right To Bear Arms is a long-standing and important Constitutional Right in America, which "shall not be infringed." It takes 3/4 of the State Legislatures to change the U.S. Constitution, and it takes an Act of Congress to change the United States Code. Yet, the obama administration seems to feel that it can override both the United States Code and the U.S. Bill of Rights with a mere executive order. This is as close to dictatorship as I have ever seen any U.S. president act during my lifetime; and there is no reason that Americans should just roll over and let him commit the kinds of human rights abuses that Bill Clinton did at Waco, TX in 1993. As a remedy, I ask that you introduce a bill in the State Legislature, similar to the bill proposed in the Wyoming Legislature, called the "Firearms Protection Act." The legislation criminalizes any attempt by federal agents to disarm the citizens of [insert your State here], so that we can arrest and imprison those who seek to perpetrate atrocities like Waco on our citizens. As a State, we not only have the right to protect our citizens from unconstitutional, federal acts, like gun seizures; but it is our duty to do so. Without strong State action to counter unconstitutional federal action, who is left to uphold the Bill of Rights? And, without a Bill of Rights, this nation will continue to slip further and further towards the kinds of atrocities committed by Bill Clinton at Waco, TX during 1993. If we, as a State, do not take a stand, right now, against such immoral, unconstitutional, and illegal acts of the federal executive branch, then we hardly deserve the status of Statehood at all. What greater purpose could the State have than the protection of the lives and property of its own citizens against the kinds of human rights abuses and atrocities committed by the federal government at Waco, TX USA? Indeed, if the State is merely an instrument of the federal government, and not a check on its power, then the State is nothing but a redundant and wasteful entity that serves no purpose other than to increase taxes on citizens and do the bidding of the President. Is that all Statehood means to you? Please join our neighbors in Wyoming to introduce a "Firearms Protection Act" in the State Legislature of [insert your State here]. Respectfully,
