Fulton County police are patrolling the streets near Estonian Drive in an armored vehicle that looks like something you'd see during war, said south Fulton County resident John Hunter. "It's a bit much. It's not Afghanistan," Hunter said. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/armored-truck-patrolling-community-after-break-ins/nTsPn/ [/quote] No big deal, their just getting people used to the up and coming fascist police state.. nothing to see here! I kept hearing a song by Fun on the radio called “Some nights”. It had all these elements, plus it sounded rousing and seemed apropos of the zeitgeist of our nation in some way. So I went online to see the video.
This song asks the question “What do I stand for?” against the backdrop of the War of Northern Aggression (more widely known as the American Civil War). In this video, the singer is depicted as a soldier for the Federal Government.
The singer seems to be ambivalent about the cause, and questions his involvement, but, like all young people, is driven by his passions and the notion of a “cause”. The song has a distinct martial feeling in the rat-tat-tat of the drumming.
