And what about any and all surveillance cameras operated in, and by, the town? Certainly it's reasonable to assume that the fire station would have had a security camera, no? And the TON (Town of Newtown) was even amending their surveillance camera by-law in 2012...oddly enough...to make the records more accessible. http://www.hamlethub.com/newtown-politics/first-selectman/15666-newtown-selectmen-address-key-issues-at-2-meetings Review & Modify TON Video Surveillance Policy: Selectman Rodgers moved to strike, from the Town of Newtown Video Surveillance Policy, the last sentence of the third paragraph under General Principles that reads Such records may not be shared with third parties, and may only be shared with other governmental agencies granted additional approval and to modify the first sentence of the final paragraph on page 2, Retention and Storage Procedures to read Surveillance video records will be stored as determined by the Connecticut General Statutes, the Freedom of Information Act and the Records Retention Policy of the Public Records Administration. Selectman Gaston seconded. All in favor. I haven't been able to find out just how many surveillance cams may be in Newtown or where they may be.
If there is, the public has not seen it, nor have the authorities confirmed its existence.
Here is Hartford Courant article about a fake bomb planted at a public school in East Hampton, CT on Jan. 12, 2013:

Excerpt:
"
East Hampton police said security camera footage showed a silver vehicle pulling up to the front of the school Saturday at about 1:47 a.m. A man wearing a plaid flannel shirt got out of the vehicle, placed a device near the school doors and then drove off, police said
."
This school had a surveillance camera that enabled law enforcement to identify the car, and provided detail about the suspect's clothing. This at 1:47AM.
Did Sandy Hook have something similar on the morning of Dec. 14, 2012?
