Drexel Preparatory Academy, a Nashville charter school, sent children home early Monday after some got sick with flu-like symptoms and a carbon monoxide detector went off.

The elementary school sent out a mass telephone alert to parents. Metro Nashville Public Schools issued a Tweet telling parents to take their children to hospital emergency rooms for evaluation. But a poison expert with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dr. Donna Seger, said parents should first look for any unusual symptoms.
