They found him on the floor after he downed an entire bottle of Gin and injected 4 insulin shots. Yeah, he's diabetic. And he was on a statin med. I have read that statins can cause depression and suicide. Any thoughts or input on this would be helpful to us right now! We just didn't see it coming! He signed his truck to his wife, and wrote her a note that she found in the bed. He had just bought tickets to take the whole family to the circus, and on the day of the circus thing was supposed to happen, "it" happened. Any thoughts on statins and depression? It's got to be something like this cos before he got on the meds he was fine!!!
I have been trained in suicide prevention and I have dealt with hundreds of suicidal people. One thing that always sticks out to me is that the ones who do successfully follow through are the ones that showed ZERO signs of it.
His wife thought he'd just just decided to tie on a good buzz, which was unuasual to a point for him, but once in awhile he'd do that. He's not a regular drinker per sae. He was on the LR floor passed out, so she tried waking him. She even called us asking what she should do...and we all decided he's sleep it off..get him to bed. So they somehow got him into bed, ad when she pulled the covers back, there was a note. If she hadn't seen the note when she did, things may have been different...
