[quote:Halcyon Dayz, FCD:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1Njg0NjAwX0JENzE2RjUw] [quote:Useless Cookie Eater:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1Njg0NTM5X0VEQzYzQTZF] [quote:Halcyon Dayz, FCD:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1Njg0NDkyXzgxMzk2MTVC] [quote:Saddletramp:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1NjgzMzIyX0ZBNTU5NkFD] It's interesting that there seems to be an agreement among almost all of the countries capable of space flight and satellite launch to put nothing into polar orbit, even though they now have that capability (at least in theory).
This is incorrect. Most Earth observation satellites are in polar orbits. It's the sole reason of existence for the launch facility at Vandenburg AFB. The object in the picture is NOT in a polar orbit, the existence of the picture itself proofs it. Any object in a polar orbit would have swooped by at 7 klicks per second. There are several pictures and they are more or less in focus, i.e. the object's orbit closely matches that of the Orbiter. Most parsimonious explanation is that the object is something that came of the Orbiter. I think it's rather small and close to the camera. IOW space debris. Just as the caption reads: http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/scripts/sseop/photo.pl?mission=STS088&roll=724&frame=66 :book:
You speak as if you were on the Space Shuttle
My observation is based on a rational analysis of the available data. Did you find fault with it? If so, what fault? [quote:Useless Cookie Eater:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1Njg0NTM5X0VEQzYzQTZF] and have a PHd in everything.
Compared with some of our resident dolts it might seem like that. [quote:Useless Cookie Eater:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1Njg0NTM5X0VEQzYzQTZF] I read up an polar orbits about 10 minutes agao....and from THAT ALONE you are full of crap. :whatever:
[citation needed] :book: [quote:Belgian Coward 32098210:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1Njg0NTQ4X0Q1ODA5QzNG] [quote:Halcyon Dayz, FCD:MV8yMTE2MTExXzM1Njg0NDkyXzgxMzk2MTVC] :book:
dude, way to spoil our Sunday evening :)
There's plenty of real mystery in the universe. No point in getting distracted by the not-so-mysterious. :book:
