Uh....you might want to look at THIS Mormon Prophecy.....unfolding before our eyes.

Prophecy given by Joseph Smith (I'll try to find the when and where)...
"The United States will spend her strength and means warring in foreign lands (IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ANNUALLY WITH NO END IN SIGHT) until the other nations will say 'let us divide up the lands of the United States'. (See: Thread: OBAMA: SELLING OUT AMERICA – LITERALLY! also reason behind China's big push to ban our guns ). Then the people of the U.S. will unite and swear by the blood of their forefathers that the land shall not be divided (is THIS the reason for the coming disarmament attempts - to STOP this?)
"Then the country will go to war, and they will fight until one half of the U.S. Army will give up, and the rest will continue to struggle. They will keep on until they are very ragged and discouraged, and almost ready to give up - when the Boys from the Mountains will rush forth in time to save the American Army from defeat and ruin. And they will say 'Brethren, we are glad you have come; give us men, henceforth, who can talk with God (people allied in prayer?)'. Then you will have friends, but you will save the country when its liberty hangs by a thread, as it were."
This 'hanging by a thread' statement is also echoed in other Mormon prophecies, which are specific to the United States Constitution - that it would 'hang by a thread' and would be saved, ultimately, by the efforts of patriotic Americans who would stand and fight for it - Mormon and non-Mormons alike.
