[quote:Anonymous Coward 32712581:MV8yMTE2NzE3XzM1NjkzNDYzXzMzMzI4OUFD] [quote:Anonymous Coward 7879907:MV8yMTE2NzE3XzM1NjkzMzkwXzI4RUNEMjVD] don't make O answer any 'tough' questions or ask questions that make them feel uncomfortable. I can see it now: US Navy Chief: "Mr. President, the Jap's have attacked Pear Harbor, what is our response going to be to the world?" O: "that is an uncomfortable question -- im firing you" Doesn't anyone else see what Obama is doing to the military? Stalin did this as well right before he was attacked by the Nazi's. Millions died as a result. He is removing the top brass because they disagree. When the man in charge of the military and the nation is not open to criticism or open to second and third opinions, especially regarding the military and military action which he knows nothing about, then you truly live under tyranny. Don't inaugurate -- impeach!
Obama has never wanted to pursue Iran though. Why can you right-wing Anti-Obamabot get your fucking stories straight. Either Obama is a closet Muslim who is pro-Islam in every way, or he isn't, make up your fucking minds. What you are trying to infer here is that Obama's admin fired this guy for not wanting to invade or start a conflict with Iran. Again....this is the opposite of what most of you loons say, so whats the deal?
It now appears likely that Gen. Mattis, a Marine Corps legend, will leave his post as head of America’s most important combatant command in March, several months earlier than planned. Ricks continues:
“Why the hurry? Pentagon insiders say that he rubbed civilian officials the wrong way — not because he went all “mad dog,” which is his public image, and the view at the White House, but rather because he pushed the civilians so hard on considering the second- and third-order consequences of military action against Iran. Some of those questions apparently were uncomfortable. Like, what do you do with Iran once the nuclear issue is resolved and it remains a foe? What do you do if Iran then develops conventional capabilities that could make it hazardous for U.S. Navy ships to operate in the Persian Gulf? He kept saying, “And then what?

This is yet another top General let go by Obama & company: First it was Gen. David McKiernan in 2009 -- the first time a war time commander had been removed since the Truman era. Now this latest one is number 5 of top leaders.
It is almost as if you would think that if the top Brass does not agree with Obama they end up fired or have their name dragged through the mud. I must need coffee though and haven't seen the big picture, Obama wouldn't do something so emperor like and put the nation in the hands of incompetent people ...
