This is the email I received... I used Turbotax.
Process delay for higher education credits
Your return has been accepted, but on January 28 the IRS announced that all returns like yours, with higher education credits, will be delayed for processing until sometime in mid-February. The specific higher education credits include the American Opportunity Tax Credit and the Lifetime Learning Credit, found on Form 8863.
What this means Don't worry, your return is still accurate, and the IRS has accepted it. However, because it contains Form 8863, it will not be processed until the IRS is ready, and your federal refund will take a little longer than expected. This is a nationwide issue for everyone who is filing Form 8863, no matter who is preparing your taxes.
What you can do Keep watching your email. We will keep you updated with the latest information from the IRS about your return.
