Do you know why there is secrecy? Because in many countries, you will be murdered for being a Mason. Not because of some silly satanic ritual, but because governments do not want people to be able to peaceably assemble without being watched. That is where the secrecy originates from and it has been the safe haven for freedom around the world. You may hate them, But in a lodge, Muslims, Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, all gather as Brothers on the level as equals. That is what the Church, the Mosque, and the government do not want.
A++++ This should be another post. Do it and I will PIN !
LOL - many groups meet everyday without government interference! The secrecy is within the order as well, in that the majority do not know what the aims of the higher 'degrees' are. Non-members are considered profane, and do not merit disclosure.
Good morning, Now let's not revisit this old hat. Again, you are not giving eye witness testimony but rather relying on hearsay. I know what goes on at the "Higher" level because I have actually been there. If there was more dirt than any other organization, I would say so. Basket weaving is what this thread is about.
When I was a Mason several years ago, I was an zealous defender of the Craft. My exploits online are well known, and through them I met Masons all over the world.
My biggest adversary were clandestine or rogue Masons.
These are those who set up lodges outside the Grand Lodge system.
Mostly these were done for nefarious purposes such as scamming the unknowing public. Masons raised under these lodges get nothing for their troubles because those lodges will never be recognized for the breach of protocol.
Anyway, a good running joke I made once upon a time, was that if I were to ever be suspended or expelled, rather than set up a clandestine lodge I would do my own thing.
I called this the "Lodge of the Under Water Basket Weavers".
Well my Brothers, did you think I was kidding?
