The cat eats food that turns to decayed/decomposed protein and fats. Crude. The dogs stomach acids are so strong they can eat something like that raw off the grass and will probably neutralize all of the e.coli. Plus their intestines are small so they poop it out quick. Things like that smell good to them, hence the rolling in poop perfume trick. They have powerful digestion and are geared towards scavenging or fighting for something, often eating partially rotted food. [quote:Lisa*Lisa:MV8yMTM3MzE4XzM2MDg2MjM2XzE5NThBODBD] Bread won't hurt a dog, but some people out there think their dog should eat wheat grass and broccoli and nothing that tastes good.
Bread isn't good for their digestive tracts as grains are slow moving and they ferment easily when eaten in large amounts. This can give dogs rashes and quick candida infections, just like in a person, but faster, because they are usually never eating wheat/grains or anything like processed breads. They eat rough meats and greens, vegetables that you would find in a field.
Original Message
I was trying to get my neighbor's Lab to go home (It was loose). I always use bread or buns to get my Lab to come home. My neighbor said"Don't give her bread, it will affect her joints!) I said " My Lab is 14 and fine". She can inhale a loaf of bread if it's left out. Neighbor says "We're healthy people she eats carrots and broccoli"! WTF?!
