THE MIN WAGE IN USA WAS SHITTTTY. People - look at other countries. All these anti min. wage posts make me think that GLP members are mostly conservatives - and they are CHEAP shittttyyy employers. I lived in the USA for many many years and I have family there that work min. wage because that's all the businesses sometimes want to pay..the minimum. If businesses had it their way they would pay people sweatshop wages. $9/hour at least reflects the rising costs of living. $7.5/hour was a discrace. And let me tell you... In Canada, in BC, the min wage is $10/hour - and there are still many successful businesses and many many rich people here. Oh we also have state run medical, and it's awesome, and we also have state run employment insurance...and it all seems to work without the system blowing up. Yes, you can have capitalism with sound social structures. USA should look up to it's sister up north, oh Canada ;)). :ltana::ltana::ltana::ltana::ltana::ltana::ltana::ltana::ltana:
we are the United States of America why the hell would we want to be like you?? in this country minimum wage is supposed to be entry level wages and NOT anything which our people support their families. keep raising it and teenagers will no longer get jobs and inoculated with a work ethic. if like a high minimum wage then be glad you live in a country where there is one and mind your own fucking business as to what we do. thank you.
Actually I am American - just like you buddy - And no I am not a lib ( who came up with that anyway) Min wage jobs are given to people with University training. Min wage jobs are given to the people who are studying to be YOUR CANCER DOCTORS in the future. To build your cars/highways/homes. Let's give MIN.Wage workers some respect - maybe we can get outstanding work out of them. We need people to work in the service sector/ to make bread/ to cook/ to clean/ and to take care of things. Let's give these people a FAIR pay and they will turn around and BUY things. They will afford to spend a little more money. Low min wage = more petty crime Low min wage = dependant on gov. help Low min wage = pissed off and SICK depressed poor people Whenever there is an increase in min wage here businesses got all pissed of - that's because FAIR min wage = less money for the BOSSMAN. Yes! your Burger will cost $2 now - -Would you really trust a $1 burger anyway -???? -$1 burgers are part of the problem anyway - YUCK! I love burgers - but usually the $7 ones ;))) Nice Canadian grass fed meaty, bloody, above min-wage Burgers mmmmm...Buffalo burgers Food prepared by people who love their job/because they feel like they are getting a fair pay TASTES so much better.
All of your premises are incorrect. Low wages do not cause crime. Come to Maine & see if you don't believe me. High wages do not ensure efficiency and good health. Look at gov't. Higher wages mean more of a cost to the consumer, meaning less low wage people can afford such luxuries as a nice car or smart phone. So what you're arguing is actually the opposite from the truth. Businesses must run a profit or there would be no reason for them to exist. If people can't live within their low wages they generally find more income which isn't illegal. Again look at Maine. We don't have roving bands of thieves supplementing their incomes.. instead people either live within their means or find a way to make more money. High crime areas have far less to do with poverty than they do with the entitlement attitude of "if you have this, I should have it too" and thats the attitude you're promoting. So let's get this right as far as left right, republican democrat, who is promoting crime and creating victims.
Well, is he?
He cares nothing about the economy. He doesn't have to run for re election so he is just trying to get his social justice crap pushed through.
Everything he does and says is soooo anti business, so anti economic growth, I don't even think he cares.
My prediction: Unemployment will be above 10% before he leaves office.
