[quote:Anonymous Coward 11887972:MV8yMTQxMjIxXzM2MTU3OTc1XzU4NjJENzlC] [quote:Anonymous Coward 26402302:MV8yMTQxMjIxXzM2MTU3NDE5X0Y1NkFGNjU=] A ten meter object at 100,000 miles is smaller (by angular diameter) than an atom at arms length. 100,000 miles is on our doorstep & objects in freefall into Earths gravitational field are generally traveling at speeds of between 5 & 50 miles per second. Unless they are cometary, they are almost completely black. Against the black background of space. They reflect very little infra red. Invent a machine that can see objects like that at a distance that will give us time to calculate where & when they will impact. Collect Nobel prize for physics. Retire with free hookers & beer. Invite me to the party.
Oh come on, they monitor space debris smaller than this, they monitor asteroids which are 29m and smaller.. baa more
So let me get this straight. A meteor goes down in Russia, injuring hundreds of people.
Yet nobody even begins to ask why the hell people weren't warned? Are they seriously trying to tell us they could not see this thing coming?
They claim to monitor the sky 24/7, yet somehow this got by unnoticed?
Why has there not been any statement yet? Why is this not all over the media?
It's really mindboggling to think that nobody will think twice about it in a few weeks time. I'm at a loss for words here.
Also this:

"Observatory team reports that they have seen the asteroid. However a technical problem with the telecope used for this webcast is preventing it from being seen clearly here. You may see a few streaks!"
And i am the effin queen of france.
