Yes this is also a possibility. But I dont like it.
What's there to not like about it? If our consciousness ceases to exist upon death, then you will never even know it. Poof! You're gone and that's that. Personally, I believe our consciousness continues to exist, and the reason I believe this is because since I don't know for sure either way, I choose to believe what makes me "feel" the best. As for Christianity and the claim that the God of the Bible is going to judge us, that is utter nonsense. The Bible is a control mechanism and for some of us, it is necessary. E.g. I know someone who is suicidal/homicidal and if it weren't for the fact that he fears going to hell, then he would go on a killing spree.
Yes the bible have been a control mechanism for a long time now, thats why I have my doubts about it. It have happend a lot of bad things in the name of religion. I just feel that hate, wars, killing and all that is connected to religion cant be the answer. But I accept if someone belives in a religion, just a bit tired of it myself.
Original Message
Regardless of religion, does something happen or is it the end. Are we gone?
Many have died in my family and my parents are old now. I just wonder if the "dead" are around in some way or if they are gone.
Not so intrested in the bible.
