In the movie FALLEN (1998),
when Denzel enters the cabin where detective Robert Milano died from an 'accident', his background voice narrates:

"There are moments which mark your life
Moments when you realise nothing will ever be the same
and time is divided into two parts
before this
and after this."

Does this mean that the Dorner incident was a marker?
Life before that and life after the Dorner incident.

Here's a comp of the newspaper clippings shown in the moive, and of the cabin in which Robert Milano died.
Note the similarities. Also Dorner has similar features to Denzel Washington:

One curious thing I noticed was both the times when the number 23 is shown in the movie, it always appeared in the '11-0-clock' position with relation to the screen. Check it out.
