Ice caps melt, water has to go somewhere.

From what I've been seeing, shorelines are retreating slightly.

But ocean levels are rising.

So it's building in the middle.

Like.. Say you have a drop of water sitting on a piece of glass.
You take a syringe and slowly inject water into that drop.
The drop increases in size until it can't support it's own weight, at which point it collapses.
