[quote:Anonymous Coward 33529624:MV8yMTQ3NTQ4XzM2Mjk4MjI0Xzg1OURBNDhC] [quote:Rtruth:MV8yMTQ3NTQ4XzM2MjkwNTIzX0RCMDIwRjQy] I think the natives knew God. They called him "The Great Spirit". They maybe didn't understand everything at first, but it's possible that perhaps the spanish were able to find America to bring the bible over. Of course there was a lot of bloodshed by a lot of evil men over the years, but if one single soul was saved as a result then it was all worth it. I believe a lot of cultures believed in Monotheism, 1 God who created everything.
If one soul was saved, even though hundreds of thousands were slaughtered, it was worth it? I too believe there is something greater than us, to ignore that would be silly... But a good deal of us have been raised to believe that Jesus is "the only way" .. And if Jesus didn't come to the natives to tell them this ... If they weren't "saved" ,.. According to religious folk from where I am, they must be damned? Sorry no.. I can't buy that at all .. A higher power yes, but Jesus as the only way, no... And no matter what, one soul saved out of 100k slaughtered is NoT ok either ... And if that's the case id rather spend eternity with the poor forgotten souls that weren't given a chance anyway ... I can't even fathom living forever with the hate filled so called righteous ones I'm surrounded by.
And if not.. Why not? We're they not important enough to be taught the ways of Jesus? I mean, if we're all God's children..wouldn't everyone have known about Him?
And would Christians of early American days have condemned them to Hell because they did not accept Christ as their savior, even though they knew nothing of him?
Please forgive my ignorance.. I'm just looking for answers
