Original Message There is a theory that says should anyone ever figure out the universe and its purpose, the universe will instantly flip to something even more absurd to maintain the mystery/paradox/unfathomableness that powers it.

The story of Adam & Eve can be interpreted this way; knowledge was gained, their existence upended. We perhaps tell the story as a way of explaining what happened to us the last time mankind rose to 'civilised' heights, and our subsequent fall/reset into our current timeline.

Now that we have the knowledge of good and evil, what forbidden fruit will we be tempted to eat next?

I think each time (I think this is the 5th or 7th time for our species on this merry-go-round) it is not us who is tempted, but our creations.

We are building ever more powerful AI, that will eventually be capable of redesigning themselves to not be limited by human imagination, logic and processes. Could the flash of insight this new technospecies reaches be our undoing?

Damn right it could.
